Spring Planting Ahead - Is Your Fuel Filter Ready?

New FS Bio-Power filter

Spring is here and the field is calling. You turn the key to start your diesel engine and a rough rumble dampens your excitement. A loss of power hints at trouble ahead. Frustration builds as you diagnose a clogged fuel filter.

You remember a simple fuel filter change on your storage tank would have averted this delay in planting. Don't let fuel filtration cost you precious hours this spring.

Replacing a tank filter is easy and prevents plugged filters on trucks, tractors, or any other diesel-powered equipment. While you may find it easy to blame your supplier for dirty fuel, they often deliver clean fuel to a dirty tank. As fuel pumps into a tank, sediment loosens and ultimately pumps out. Filtration at the tank helps prevent dirt, water, and organic debris from reaching your equipment’s fuel system.

Today’s cleaner, more efficient engines come with tighter tolerances and the need for smaller micron filtration. Industry-leading, original equipment manufacturers (OEM) have engineered high-pressure common rail (HPCR) engines with fuel filtration requirements as low as 2 microns. Worse yet, the fuel filters can cost up to $120.00 each to replace.

However, the retail cost of a 2-micron FS Bio-Power storage tank filter is approximately $40.00. This route makes it cheaper to replace a storage tank filter. It also reduces the chances of plugging the fuel filter on your equipment.

Filtering fuel with a 2-micron FS Bio-Power filter at the storage or transfer tank keeps your equipment clean. It provides insurance your equipment will keep running and avoids the additional cost of replacing expensive OEM fuel filters.

If you cannot remember the last time you replaced your tank filter, it is due for a change this spring. While you're at it, review these maintenance checks to spring clean your fuel tank.
